1993年第二屆中華民國畫廊博覽會籌辦之際，恰巧遇到台北世貿場地承租的問題，畫廊協會理監事會遂決定響應文建會藝術政策，第一次移師台中辦理展覽。由理事長張金星擔任召集人，以「燦耀星火 終將蔓延」為題在專刊中書序，執行長為李亞俐女士，副執行長為李敦朗先生。中華民國畫廊博覽會為中部難得之具國際水準美術活動，台灣參展畫廊共48家並首次舉辦「法鼓山當代義賣會」，文建會亦首次列為指導單位。
During the organization of the second ART GALLERIES FAIR R.O.C. in 1993, there happened to be an issue with leasing the Taipei World Trade Center venue. In response to the art policy of the Council for Cultural Affairs, the board of directors of the Gallery Association (TAGA) decided to move the exposition to Taichung for the first time. The chairman of TAGA, Zhang Jinxing served as the convener, and the topic "Sparkling Fire, Spreading Eventually" was written in the preface of the special issue. Ms. Li Yali was the executive director, and Mr. Li Dunlang was the deputy executive director. The ART GALLERIES FAIR R.O.C. was a rare international-level art event in central Taiwan, with 48 Taiwanese galleries participating. It also hosted the first "Fa Gu Shan Contemporary Charity Sale," and the Council for Cultural Affairs was inaugurally listed as a guiding organization.
